Summary

The fashion industry has been in need of attention for many years and needs to be future-proofed across all sectors due to changing social attitudes and a desire for fashion to be more sustainable, efficient and functional. It has become evident that current manufacturing and supply chain models are incapable of withstanding issues if and when they should arise. There has been an increase in awareness of the exploitation of workers, the environmental impact of fashion and the culture of throwaway fashion, alongside a changing social landscape surrounding gender and advanced manufacturing concepts may be able to address these issues.
