Try some simple tasks to learn what it is like to be a civil engineer.
Most of the built environment around has been created by civil engineers. Tall buildings, roads, tunnels, airports or even pipes that bring water to your taps.
How do the engineers know what shape and size to make these things from? Should they make them out of metal, wood, plastic, concrete or perhaps something else? To answer these questions, a civil engineer needs to know about structures and materials and we will explain how.
