Dr. Ivan J. Vera Marun is a Senior Lecturer in Condensed Matter Physics at The University of Manchester.

He did his PhD at the Mesa+ Institute for Nanotechnology, University of Twente (the Netherlands). He then worked with Prof. Bart van Wees at The Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, University of Groningen, as well as being a Senior Visiting Research Fellow with Prof. Barbaros Özyilmaz at the Graphene Research Centre, National University of Singapore.

At The University of Manchester he serves in the Management Boards of the Graphene NOWNANO Centre for Doctoral Training, where he is Outreach Coordinator, and of the 2D Material of Tomorrow Centre for Doctoral Training, where is Taught Programme Coordinator. His research interests include spin-dependent transport in graphene and other 2D materials, magnetic tunnel junctions, magnon transport and thermoelectrics.
